Enjoy our morning Vatican Tour including the famous Sistine Chapel with the outstanding Creation of Adam, and the incomparable Last Judgment, on the altar wall. We will then proceed the Pio-Clementino halls with the
Laocoon and Apollo Belvedere. Last stop will be Saint Peter’s Basilica. Inside this church we will experience the beauty of the world famous sculpture La Pietà by Michelangelo and the impressive Baldachin Altar (in gold and bronze) by GianLorenzo Bernini as well as the splendid Colonnade outside the church. Square. After the morning tour you will be transferred in the restaurant to enjoy a typical lunch with drinks. After lunch you will enjoy our Baroque & Caravaggio Elite Tour. The itinerary begins at Trinità dei Monti .From the top we will descend the legendary stairs of the Spanish Steps (the “scalinata”). In the centre of the square you will admire the Fontana della Barcaccia made by Pietro Bernini (father of the famous Gian Lorenzo). Walking through Via Condotti, we cross Piazza del Parlamento, and walk to Piazza Colonna. Today the north side of the square is taken by Palazzo Chigi, seat of the Italian parliament. Proceed then to Piazza di Pietra, with the Temple of Hadrian and Piazza della Rotonda housing the unmistakable and masterpiece structure of the Pantheon. Once inside, our expert guide will give an explanation about its history and the architectural secrets of the building. Tour continues with the inside visit of two of the most beautiful Baroque Churches: Sant’Ignazio di Loyola, with the huge ceiling frescoed by Father Andrea Posso, one of the most outstanding expressions of baroque painting and San Luigi dei Francesi with the three world-renowned cycle paintings by Caravaggio. The tour will end with a visit of the renaissance Church of Sant’Agostino to admire, among other things, one of the most famous paintings by Caravaggio: La Madonna di Loreto. The tour ends here. By foot you can continue to visit other attractions on your own, or just relax and experience this beautiful area with lovely shops nearby.
